Tokyo International Vocal Arts Academy "at Home" Opera Gala Concert

About this Event

Classical music is the art of performing acoustic music to enrich people's lives and minds. Particularly Vocal Music, the art of the human voice, has developed so a single singer can reach thousands of people in a performance venue. However in the current environment musicians are unable to deliver their art to their audience.
But through the power of the Internet we bring you music from three continents -Asia, Europe and America- across borders and time zones directly into your home with a spectacular line-up of performers and live interviews from Japan, China, Italy, Germany, Canada, Argentina and the United States. This is a real online opera recital that you can enjoy in the comfort of your own home while enjoying some snacks and drinks. You can enjoy the concert with headphones or connect your PC screen to your TV with an HDMI.
Please relax at home with a glass of wine and enjoy a new form of concert!
Performance across the continents!
Howard Watkins, one of the world's leading vocal pianists and and assistant conductor at the Metropolitan Opera, will play piano from New York, while Kohei Yamamoto, a leading tenor from Japan, and Takaki Kurihara, a rising star living in Italy, will sing to create a duet across three continents!
You can also enjoy a mini-lecture on how to enjoy opera by Professor Prof. Shoko Tategami from Ferris University, with musical examples performed by William Desbiens from Canada and Airi Sunada from Tokyo, who recently won the Goto Memorial Culture Award.
